What is a trusteeship
A trustee is an incorporated not-for profit organization with the financial systems and organizational structure to administer another group’s grant funds. CEE is pleased to provide trusteeship to grassroots and/or incorporated non-profit organizations in Canada that are Black-focused, Black-lead and/or Black-serving (B3).
CEE’s Organizational Mentorship Approval Process
Application Submission
Submit your group’s application to the Organizational Development Program and indicate your interest in trusteeship. CEE will confirm receipt of your application within 72 business hours.
Vetting of application
Once your application is received, the Organizational Development Team will screen it for due diligence and ensure there is alignment with our mission and values. We may take up to 2 weeks from confirmation of receipt to complete our review.
Notification
All applicants will be notified of the results of our review. Successful applicants will be invited to a virtual interview with the Organizational Development Lead to explore the potential of a working relationship. Unsuccessful applicants can be provided feedback upon request.
Final results
The Organizational Development Team will do a final screening for conflicts of interest and communicate a final decision regarding trusteeship. If approved, we will contact the successful group to set up an onboarding meeting. During this meeting, we will discuss the trusteeship agreement, draft an MOU or LOU, and cover other expectations.
