Job Description


Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Social Supports will lead the development and delivery of culturally relevant, trauma-informed social support services for Black youth. This role ensures that all social supports are integrated with the overall strategic vision of the CEE Centre and meet the holistic needs of the youth we serve.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Service Delivery & Quality Assurance:

– Develop and oversee the delivery of comprehensive social support services, including counseling and case management.

– Ensure services are culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and holistic.

– Manage client intake processes and ensure effective staff supervision and case consultation.

– Collaborate with the Director of Programs to ensure integrated service delivery.


Crisis Management:

– Lead crisis management efforts, ensuring effective response to youth in crisis.

– Implement safeguarding measures and risk mitigation strategies to protect service users and the organization.


People Leadership & Team Management:

– Recruit, supervise, and develop the Social Supports team, providing ongoing training and performance management.

– Implement staff wellness strategies to support team resilience in a high-needs environment.

– Manage team KPIs and data collection for program reporting and evaluation.


Management and Organizational Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement a Black youth-focused case management model and service framework.

– Manage relationships with external service providers and community partners.

– Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the CEE Centre.

– Advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion within and outside the organization.


Grants & Sponsorship Development:

– Identify funding opportunities to support social support services.

– Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Fund Development Specialist on grant applications and sponsorship proposals.


Budget & Administration:

– Oversee the budget for social support services, ensuring financial compliance and reporting.

– Ensure service delivery aligns with CEE’s strategic vision and operational plans.


Other Duties:

– Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.



– Deep understanding of the challenges and needs of Black youth in Toronto.

– At least 5 years of experience working with Black/racialized youth.

– Proven track record in social service delivery, particularly in mental health and case management.

– At least 2 years of staff supervision and team management experience.

– Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.

– Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.

– Knowledge and application of ethical principles and confidentiality.
